Help with Micro Maestro 6-Ch

Hi all,

I’m having trouble with the 6-ch servo controller. It is connected to an Arduino through Serial and 2 servos on the other end. The Arduino code works well with my other 12-ch maestro.

Symptoms as follow:

  1. 6-ch servo controller works fine when connected to USB (respond Arduino code)
  2. when USB is unplugged, yellow LED is blinking, red LED is steady (all servos dead)
  3. when USB is unplugged and tx/rx not connected to Arduino, all LEDs are off (Power supplied via servo power ports)

From the manual, the LED sequence indicates firmware error which leads to software reset. I’ve reloaded the firmware but the problem persists.

Any suggestions?

I’m sorry you are having trouble.

From the behavior you describe, it sounds like you are not powering the Maestro properly when it is disconnected from USB. What is connected to the Maestro’s VIN line? Also, is the Maestro’s GND connected to the Arduino’s GND?
