I have plugged the USB A into the m3pi and it doesn’t seem to be charging.

The USB A connector on the m3pi cannot be used to charge your robot’s batteries. However, there is a two-pin female 0.1″ header in the front-left corner of the robot that can be used as a charge port. More information about this can be found in the “ChargePort” section of the m3pi user’s guide.
