Glideforce LACT4P-12V-10 backorder

Hello,
I am interested to get the Glideforce LACT4P-12V-10 linear actuator, but it is out of stock. Do you know when it will be available?

Thank you.

Hello.

We expect to have that item back in stock by the end of next week.

Can the TIC driver be used to drive this via serial commands from a desktop linux, or osx?

If not, can you suggest what I’d use to drive this and write shell scripts for…

Kind regards
j.

Hello.

The Tic controllers are designed to drive stepper motors whereas the Glideforce actuators use brushed DC motors. As mentioned on the actuator’s product page, we recommend the Jrk G2 21v3 or the more powerful Jrk G2 24v13 for applications with loads close to the upper limits of what the actuator is rated for.

You can find more information about the Jrk G2 motor controllers in their user’s guide. There are various examples there, including ones for Linux as well as how to use the jrk2cmd command-line utility, which you might find helpful for writing a shell script.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
