What’s a typical angular field of view for the Sharp GPY0A21YK0F? I’ve been enjoying working with the Parallax Ping sonar sensor, but its field of view is so wide that it’s difficult to where in that vast scope the actual target lives. And while the Maxbotix EZ4 sounds like (heh) it might be a good choice, that 15-inch minimum detection distance is going to be a problem for my application.

I remember seeing a spec. of something like ±2 degrees, and I think that is consistent with what we’ve seen in practice. The angle is probably bigger if you are close up. You are missing the first ‘2’ in the part number, so that would affect any web searches you might have done. The part number is GP2Y0A21YK0F.
