I’m building a project with motors Faulhaber SR1512 with encoder IE2-8, which it’s output for the encoder presents Channel A and Channel B (quadrature encoder). I wanted to use the Pololu Jrk G2 21v3 to control each motor but it only has one FBT pin for feedback. Is there a way to connect both channels to the Pololu without losing the direction information (obtained through the deviation of phase of second channel)?
Hello.
What kind of control are you trying to get? The Jrk G2 can use a single channel from a quadrature encoder as tachometer feedback for closed-loop speed control. You can find details about this in the “Setting up frequency feedback” section of the user’s guide. For closed-loop position control, the Jrk G2 needs an analog feedback source. It cannot read both channels of a quadrature encoder signal.
