I have an application question regarding whether or not M1 and M2’s outputs can be combine to achieve a ~2A continuous output. Can they? And are there any steps that need to be taken other than “Make sure you set the outputs correctly!”
We do not recommend paralleling the outputs of a the Baby Orangutan’s motor driver because you cannot also parallel the inputs (they are not made available anywhere on the board).
If you are looking for a microcontroller board with an onboard motor driver, you might consider one of our Arduino-compatible A-Star 32U4 Robot Controllers, which can handle ~1.7A or ~1.8A continuously on both motor channels (depending on which version you get).
