hi on the pololu orangutan there is the male 6 pin connector for the avr programmer cable, where can ibuy that connector for the development board i am making - in england?

Digikey UK’s surcharges on small orders are even more ridiculous than in the US!
I think you’ve ordered from Maplin before. They don’t seem to have double-row header pins, but you could get this single row strip of header pins from them. You can cut or break them apart to get the numbers you need.
By the way, are you building this development board on a solderless breadbord? If so, there’s no place you can plug in six pins in two rows without shorting them to each other, so you may have to get creative:
