We are pleased to introduce an extended version of our Sanyo-style motor mounting bracket that gives the motor and bracket assembly room to extend partially into the hub of larger wheels.
This bracket is designed to work with a new, custom-designed wheel for our mini and micro metal gearmotors. This wheel will also fit the output shafts of the Solarbotics metal gear motors.
The wheel hub has a series of 12 teeth that protrude from the edge of the interior rim. A reflectance sensor such as our QTR-1A can be used for encoder feedback if mounted so that it is looking out from inside the hub at these teeth. The second picture below shows a sample oscilloscope screen capture of a reflectanc sensor’s output as the wheel rotates.
