Adjustable Boost Regulator 2.5-9.5V Problem

Hi there

I’m a newbie & I just got my Boost Regulators. I was testing them by hooking them up to a voltage supply powering ~3.7V i measured the Voltage on the Vout using a multimeter. While adjusting the output voltage with the trimmer potentiometer all of a sudden it started consuming more than 1A (and getting hot). With no load connect to the output.
Basically i just turned the trimmer back & forth for about 1/4 circle rotation for not more than 3 times and then this problem appeared.
My application is to use the boost regulator to power the Pololu IR Beacon (6V) using a 3.3V Power source.

thanks in advance for help!

Hello, raumkundschafter.

I’m sorry you are having problems with your boost regulator. On the boost regulator product page, we have this warning:

While turning the potentiometer, is it possible you set the output voltage to something lower than the input voltage?

If you contact us directly about the problem, we might at least be able to get you a discount on a replacement.
