ACS714 Secsor Copper Weight

Hi,

I would be most grateful if you could let me know whether your 5Amp and 30Amp ACS714 based current sense boards are made on 1 oz or 2 oz copper. Are the PCBs the same copper weight apart from the chip mounted on them?

I had been trying to transfer from breadboard to my own integrated design but my ACs714 chips seems to heat up and die very quickly compared to your board - so I was wondering about the weight of the copper in your boards as this acts as a heatsink for the chips.

Thanks

Hi,

I since saw the mention of 2 oz in your advert.

I was just wondering how you make the boards so small - allegros dev kit has 1500 mm sq of 2 oz copper on each side.

I had a similar area of copper as you have but my chips die just under their own power.

Thanks

Hello.

I am glad you were able to find the information on the product page.

What Allegro development kit are you referring to? (Could you post a link?)

Could you clarify what you mean by “my chips die just under their own power”? How are you using the current sensor and how much current are you flowing through it? If you post pictures, I could see if I notice anything that looks suspicious.
