I am a software engineer by trade and I am just starting to get into electronics. I recently purchased a U3V12F12 Set-up voltage regulator to bring the 5V from my Raspberry Pi to power my 12V IR LED Panel. One thing that I am not sure about is how to wire the regulator on a bread board. I know that the ground on the PCB is shared between the 12V output and the 5V input, but I do not know how it should be set up. Please refer to my picture that I have attached for details. If anyone has any tips or pointers I would be grateful.

From what I can see, the connections from your regulator look correct. I do not know how much current the 5V output on your Raspberry Pi is able to source, but you might want to double-check to see if it can supply enough for your IR LED panel.
