Simple motor controller with encoders?

Do the simple motor controllers have any ability to use the encoders that are built into some of the gear motors you sell?

I’m looking at using your H-bridge controllers and add my own microcontrollers to keep up with the encoder rate and generate speed profiles, but if your ready-made surface-mount goodness already does this, I’d love to save the effort :slight_smile:

Hello,

The Simple Motor Controllers do not have any built-in encoder support. If you are only interested in doing speed control, you can use one channel of an encoder as a tachometer for a jrk motor controller, or you could use the encoder with a RoboClaw. However, neither of those controllers are suited to doing position control with an encoder.
