Run +5v out to servo power

Hi, I know this is probably not a normal question, but here it is anyway…

I’m using a 6.6v LiFePO4 (a123) power source for an application which requires a micro maestro to control a single Hitec servo (both digital and analog are in use at this stage, however the intention is for all units to be digital in the future).

As the input is higher than that which is recommended by hitec, and they suggest damage can occur as a result, I’ll need to regulate this down. I can buy something to do this, however I was hoping I could use the +5v out as illustrated below:

Anyone know if this is ok?

Thanks,

Mark.

ah… scratch that… I don’t think i’ll run a servo on 20mA somehow :frowning:
