Magnetic Encoder Pair Kit for Micro Metal Gearmotors, 12 CPR

Can this encoder handle the micro gearmotor rear shaft speed which looks to be 30,000 RPM (at no load)?

How does one read the TLE4946-2K data sheet to determine the maximum RPM this encoder can handle?
The data sheet has a “Switching Frequency” of 15kHz. Is that what I should use?
With 12 counts (6 magnetic poles) on the encoder would it be 15kHz/12 poles * 60 seconds = max RPM? = 75000 Max RPM?

If not the switching frequency, than what should I be using?

Thanks so much,

Hello.

Those magnetic encoders are the ones we recommend using with our micro metal gearmotors, and we have not had any problems with them being able to keep up with the gearmotors. The datasheet is not very clear, but I think the switching frequency specification is the one to use. By the way, you should use 6 poles in your calculation because there are two channels on the encoders:

15kHz / 6 counts (on one channel) * 60 seconds = 150k RPM
