Micro dual seial motor controller capabalities

Hello all.
I am new to this forum, and wanted an opinion. I purchased the Micro Dual Serial Motor controller. I want to use it to control a dual motor bot that I made. My concern is that the stall current for each motor is slightly over 1 amp @ 6volts(1.07 amps). Should I be concerned about damaging the controller, or will the controller’s overload protection protect it? I doubt that I will ever push the output to 100%.

Hello,

Trying to pull too much current out of the controller shouldn’t damage it, but you will see the over-temperature cutoff kicking in. You might want to glue a heat sink to the motor driver chip (the larger chip). Also, is it possible for you to run the motors at 4.5 V? That would make things a bit safer.
