Ir black and white detector

hi i was using your liteon 40DS ir receiver for our thesis to make a black and white detector for a range of 10 to 15 cm distance… i was hoping if you could give me a working 40 khz transmitter circuit and a receiver circuit for the ir receiver. thanks :smiley:

We would use a small microcontroller both for the 40 kHz generation and for the IR receiver interface. The example on the following page should help get you started:

do you have a ir transimtter circuit that uses the 555 timer and outputs 40 khz? :slight_smile:

We do not have any official circuit to provide. If you do a search for something like “555 timer IR transmit 40 kHz”, you’ll get many circuits.
