Current draw from servos when MSSC is unpowered

I’m using separate battery packs to provide servo power and control-board power with the micro serial servo controller. I’m trying to figure out if I need one switch or two.

If the control board power is disconnected, are the servos drawing any current at all? I’m told that ordnarily servos draw a couple mA when not receiving any control pulses. But maybe the MSSC board does something clever to disconnect them completely when the board is powered down? Or do I really need two switches?

Thanks,

Joe,

You’ll need two switches. The servo controller just distributes the servo power to the servos (you can see the traces running down the columns of pins).
