I saw in the guide for the Pololu 18v7 that it could be controlled from a Mac using the virtual COM port. Does anyone know of a program or command line argument I can use to interface with the motor in this way? I have not been able to find anything on how to actually set up the connection.
Hello,
We have a few code examples in the Simple Motor Controller user’s guide, which can be found on the Resources tab of its product page. In particular, the cross-platform C and Bash script examples should work on Mac OS X.

I looked at the bash script and C code before, but I’m having a problem in that I can’t locate the COM port name. Without this, I can’t run the script. The motor appears in my System Profiler, but no COM port is listed and when I list all of the ports in /dev/, there is no port that matches up with the motor. Is there any way to locate the port, or is there any reason why the port wouldn’t be listed even if it was actually there?
The virtual COM ports only work on Mac OS X 10.7 or later. What version do you have?

Whoops… turns out that was the problem, I’ve got everything running now. Thanks for your help!
