Channel mix jumper inoperative

I am trying to get channel 1 to operate motor 1 and channel 2 to operate motor 2 (and aux motor shorted to channel 2). With or without channel mix jumper in place I get single stick operation. Furthermore, when I try to execute the handshake, I can get as far as the red and green lights alternating once per second, but when I remove the channel-mix jumper, the alternative blinking does not speed up. Is there a remedy?

Could you tell me more information about your setup? What was the position of each of the jumpers on your TReX Jr when you powered it on and then saw the red and green lights alternating once per second? Could you post a picture that clearly shows your motor setup and all of your electrical connections?
