Hello, Rob.
It looks like it’s getting stuck trying to download the .NET Framework 3.5. Could you try downloading and installing it separately, before trying to run the Maestro setup.exe.
Brandon
Unfortunately, I’ve tried a half-dozen ways of installing .NET 3.5 on this computer and it always fails. I’ve tried every trick I’ve seen on the internet and they all fail. The link you posted fails the same way.
Rob
I wish I had realized that I’d have to install the MCC software to configure the Maestro before being able to use it with a microcontroller. Is this really necessary?
Rob
The .NET 3.5 framework is required to use the Maestro Control Center on Windows. It is still possible to use the Maestro without the software with some limitations. You can find information about this in the “Using the Maestro without USB” section of the Maestro user’s guide.
If those limitations do not work for you and you need to use the Maestro Control Center software, you will either need to figure out why the .NET 3.5 framework can’t be installed or try running the software on a different computer.
Brandon
Thanks. I could never get .NET 3.5 installed on my laptop for whatever reason. I was able to install the MCC on a different computer that already had .NET 3.5. It seems like, if I want to communicate with the Maestro from an Arduino, I at least need to be able to set the baud rate in the MCC. It’s all working now at 9600 baud.
