Hi, I’m attempting to build a autonomous differential drive robot, with an arm on it. I think I should order the big 131:1 Metal Gear motor 37Dx57L mm with 64 CPR Encoder, because I’m expecting the robot to travel short distances with a heavy payload, and I think the “250 oz-in” is speaking of the power of the motor. But I’m confused about what motor driver to get. The stall on this motor with 12vdc applied to it is 500mA, so , do I need a motor controller that has a continuous output of 5A per channel? Which motor driver would you recommend?

We list several recommended motor controllers and drivers on the “related products” links on the right side of the product page. The MC33926 should be good enough for these motors in most situations.
