Another Power problem

Hi,

A really stupid question but does my mini maestro 6 always need to be connected to the computer to work?
I tried to power the system using one 4.8v rechargeable power supply and obviously, it wasn’t within the power range, 5 v being the minimum.
Is it best to power the servos separately and then the board, I’m only using 3 micro servos?

If I have the correct voltage will the mini maestro automatically run the script once power is applied?

Thanks,

Jon

Hello, Jon.

If your servo power is lower than 5V, you should probably use two power sources or add a step-up regulator to bring the lower voltage up to about 6V to power the Maestro through the VIN and GND connections. Otherwise, you can power your servos and Maestro from a single 6V supply. You can find more details about these options in the “Powering the Maestro” section of the Maestro’s User’s Guide.

You can check the “Run script at startup” box in the “Script” tab of the Maestro Control Center software to have your Maestro run the script when powered.
