Any recommendation for heat sinks for use on the A4988 on the Pololu board? Does the pad connect and reverse pour make a back side sink useful as well?
Thanks
Jim

I use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835708011&Tpk=mos-c1 on my A4983 boards (Pololu Item# 1201) plus a small fan. Probably overkill since I run less than 1 amp to the motor.

Topside or reverse side?
Thanks!
Jim
Topside. You would need a very tall socket to use them on the reverse side since the heatsink is about 5/8" tall.

My motor will drive a vacuum variable capacitor which has plenty of holding friction so once positioned I’ll be turning the motor off after at most 18-20 revolutions.
I don’t really need to make it run at warp speed so perhaps with reduced power I won’t even need a heatsink.
Thanks
