Hello.

Our 37D gearmotors are not series or shunt wound. They are permanent magnet motors. If you want to know more about different types of brushed DC motors, you might find this document on the different types of DC motors interesting.

Thanks grant, that’s great. How can you tell they are permanent magnet motors, if it doesn’t say in the description/specs?

There isn’t a way to tell just by looking at it; you’d need to ask, like you are here, or if you have one in your possession, you can check and see if it’s magnetic. Can you tell me why you want to know what kind of motor it is?
