Controlling a Zumo Robot with a Joystick Shield

The ElecFreaks.com Joystick shield can be combined with a nRF24L01+ wireless transceiver.

If the Zumo Robot is extended with such an nRF24L01+ transceiver module, the Zumo bot is controllable with a joystick. Great fun to drive the robot with a joystick around. The nRF24L01+ transceiver is sensitive to voltage drops, and this article explains the problems and as well the solution:

Hello.

Thank you for sharing; its cool that you were able to reduce the noise from the 3.3V supply enough in your current design to get a workable system. I hope the new board takes care of the issue entirely!

Hi Amanda,
yes, the new board works now without issues. We added more capacitance to buffer the power supply, and now everything works with full speed back and forward
