Minimum voltage

Hello,

I just got my new 3pi. In the manual you wrote “Do not attempt to program your 3pi if its batteries are drained or uncharged”. Fortunately the 3pi can display the battery voltage but I didn’t find the minimum voltage at which it’s still save to program the bot. Can you give such information?

Hello.

I would personally start getting wary of programming the 3pi at around 5V if I was using alkaline batteries, or around 4.3 V if I was using NiMH batteries. These voltages should be when the robot is on and the motors are not moving. You can see the discharge curves of these batteries on this page about “discharge tests of AA Alkaline and NiMH Batteries”.
