Is there a real need to have a different wire for both the GND VMOT and the GND for the logic, when my microcontroller and my stepper are powerd by the same 12v power supply? In other words: can i wire the two GND pins together and just lead them to the GND of my DC 12V-supply?

The ground pins are connected internally on the DRV8825 carrier and do not need to be wired separately so long as your microcontroller and power supply share a common ground.
